The way has been cleared for the White Castle High School stadium will be named for the late Iberville Parish Councilman Milton R. “Rocky” Ourso Jr., a White Castle athlete and a member of the school's hall of fame.

A Louisiana Attorney General's opinion that came to light Monday threw into doubt the Ponchartrain Levee District's lease of some 160 acres of public land in the Alligator Bayou area to Frank Bonifay for $200 a year for 99 years. The tract includes nearly 40 acres in Iberville Parish.

Two representatives of the Baton Rouge Loop project are urging Iberville Parish residents to turn out for either of two-land use workshops scheduled in Addis and Gonzales on Tuesday.

Iberville Parish Council access to five acres of land it purchased as the site for a North Iberville community center was at stake in a court hearing set for 9 a.m. Wednesday (yesterday).
