White Castle High’s Bulldogs breezed their way to their fifth-straight and league-leading District 8-A boys’ basketball victory Friday night by blasting Ascension Christian by a 71-41 score.

The victory finally evened up the season record for the Castlemen at 12-12 and pushed their district-topping mark to 5-0.

A tough non-district schedule continued to pay off for Coach Ronald Johnson’s Bulldogs as they have streaked their way through the 8-A slate thus far. District winless AC had no chance as the hosting WCHS boys rolled up quarter scoring margins of 22-13, 10-7, 20-7, and 19-14.

Coach Johnson emptied his bench as ten Bulldogs got into the scorebook. Randy Foster led the WCHS attack with 15, while Terrance Fair added 14. Ronald Martin tallied 10 in a brief stay on the court. Coming off the bench, DeAndre Bellock tallied 8, while Jerelle Scott netted 6 and Isaac O’Bear 5 points. Dondre Kelson and Dontrell Thomas netted 4 apiece, while starters Quadry Allen and Daniel Allen combined for 5 more points. Bob Moreland led AC with 15 points.
