On Saturday, June 20 The Greater St. mark Baptist Church held a groundbreaking ceremony for the future church that they are in the process of constructing.
Some notables that attended the event were Councilmen of Plaquemine Oscar Melleion and Jimmie Randle along with Dr. P. E. Dawson, the Rev. GeoRge Barrett of Mt. Zion Baptist Church #1, the Rev. Iona Woods and the Rev. Walter Brock of the Greater St. Mary Baptist Church.
