Krystal Yush, a recent Teacher of the Year in Iberville Parish, competed last weekend in the U.S. Track and Field Championships’ hammer throw event.
Yush, who competes as a representative of the New York Athletic Club, finished sixth in the event with a throw of 209 feet. She moved with her husband, an LSU track coach, to Louisiana and recently finished her first year teaching at the Math, Science, Art Academy West in Plaquemine.
