Baton Rouge Community College's Plaquemine Campus is currently enrolling students for an electrical and welding classes.
The Electrical Level 1 course begins on March 21, 2017 and ends on October, 10, 2017. It will be held at the BRCC Plaquemine Campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
This course utilizes the construction industry designed National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curricula. Instruction includes classroom and hands-on training.
The total cost is $250 which includes textbook. Payment plans are available.
The summer one-month welding class will be held in the training lab at Plaquemine High School. Classes will run Monday – Thursday, from 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. It begins on May 29, 2017 and ends on June 29, 2017.
Trainees will learn fundamental skill sets needed to show mastery in AWS welding applications and will be exposed to stick welding, mig and tig based on their ability level. Those who show mastery in required skill sets will be referred to weld testing labs for AWS certifications.
The class consists primarily of hands-on training. The total cost for the summer Welding program is $550. Payment plans are also available.
