Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi is set to host a string of community meetings later in the month of March through early April at area churches.
Stassi and his staff members will host meetings to discuss topics including community relations, home safety, social media safety and more. Stassi is holding these meetings to encourage and foster open communication between the Iberville Sheriff’s Office and the community, and to answer potential residents’ questions.
“My hope is that these meetings will keep the lines of communication open between the Sheriff’s Office and the community,” Stassi said. “I want to hear the concerns of our good, law abiding citizens. I want to be able to share with them the positive things that we do. Together I know we can make a better community and a better Sheriff’s Office.”
The first meeting will be held Thursday, March 23 at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church at 58165 Barrow St. in Plaquemine, followed by a March 30 meeting at Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at 23030 Talbot Dr. in Plaquemine.
The April 6 meeting will be held at Bayou Sorrel Baptist Church at 33285 Bayou Sorrel Rd. in Bayou Sorrel and the final meeting will be held April 13 at St. Joan of Arc Church Gym at 39315 Hwy 75 in Bayou Pigeon.
All meetings are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and refreshments will be served. Another series of meetings is planned for the fall. For more information contact the Sheriff’s Office at 225-687-5100.
