The sound of music will be heard from the Plaquemine Lock Historic Site on Saturday, as the first of two Music on the River concerts takes place from 5 until 8 p.m. The Swinging Willows will perform their 1940s and 1950s swing music for this free event.

Be sure to bring your lawn chairs, ice chests, and dancing shoes for this annual event held outside the lockhouse, located at 57730 Main Street in Plaquemine. The second concert, featuring the Eddie Smith Trio playing swamp rock and dance music, will be held on Saturday, April 22, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
