The Arc of East Ascension Dancing for a Cause Committee announced on Thursday the line-up for its 2017 Dancing for a Cause extravaganza.
A meet-and-greet was held at Kamal’s Kafe Lebanese Cuisine in Gonzales, La. The 10 Star Dancers will take the stage on July 8, 2017 to perform their professional ballroom dance numbers at the Lamar-Dixon Trademart Building.
The event raises funds and awareness for The Arc of East Ascension, a non-profit organization, whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for persons with disabilities and their families through services and advocacy that support choice, independence and dignity.
Our local star dancers include City of Gonzales Chief Engineer Jackie Baumann, Neighbors Federal Credit Union Asst. Vice President Branch Manager Trevor Gautreaux, Lamar-Dixon General Manager Kyle Rogers, Ascension Public Schools Public Information Officer Jackie Tisdell, Life Source Hospice Community Liaison Terri Kaaihue, Triple Threat Dance Studio Owner Manager Tasheba York Leblanc, WAFB Anchor Investigative Reporter Cheryl Mercedes, The Scotts Company Plant Manager Malcolm Carter, Genesis 360 Construction Owner Craig A. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. with food and refreshment. The event starts at 7:00 p.m. General admission ($30) and VIP ($75) tickets are on sale now, available at The Arc of East Ascension Office 1122 S. Tickets are also available the night of the event general admission ($35) and VIP ($80) at the door. This year’s honorary chairperson is Sheriff Jeff Wiley. Judging the event this year is Dr. Dale Doty, Chancellor of River Parishes Community College, Gaylynne Mack, Executive Director, The Big Buddy Program, Debbie Traylor, Owner of Debbie’s Bridal, Anita Cann, Affordable Printing and APSB and Technical Judge Larry Schexnaydre, Director Owner of Center Stage.
The emcees for 2017 are Bridget Hannah, Ascension Parish Clerk of Court and David Alexander,
Superintendent of Ascension Parish Public Schools.
