Thirty Iberville Parish 4-H Members attended 4-H Camp in Pollock, La.  June 26-30. Each camper selected an educational camp track from the following options: Outdoor Adventures; Food and Fitness; Wetlands, Wildlife, and YOU; Water Sports Safety; Hunter’s Safety Certification; The Artist Within; and Science, Engineering & Technology. In addition to their educational tracks, campers also participated in a variety of recreational activities, including: canoeing, tubing, archery, line dancing, sports, swimming, and crafting.

Louisiana 4-H and the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries have partnered to offer an opportunity for 4-H campers to complete the Hunter Safety Certification training course while at camp. The following Iberville 4-H Members successfully earned their Hunter Safety Certification at camp: Maddie Berard, Layla Brown, Gracie Gulotta, Parker Jackson and Jana Wilkinson.

Campers also had the opportunity to take swim lessons, in an effort to pass the 4-H swim test. The following Iberville 4-H Members successfully completed their lessons and passed the swim test: Ethan Matthews and Sean Pourciau.

Several Iberville 4-H Members were recognized for exhibiting outstanding character at camp. The following Iberville campers and counselor received character recognition awards: Ashton Rogers, Taju Dauzart and Elise Jackson.

“Camping is a great opportunity to help many of our 4-H’ers develop a sense of independence and self-reliance,” 4-H Agent Christina Hebert said. “It is a fun and memorable experience that our campers will remember for years to come.”

The following 4-H’ers represented Iberville Parish at 4-H Summer Camp: Maddie Berard, Brianna Bonton, Madeline Bonton, Layla Brown, Anna Claire Campbell, Madelyn Cordova, Alyssa Crawford, Taju Dauzart, Annalise Day, Josephine Day, Kennedy Grow, Andrea Guillory,  Gracie Gulotta, Katheryne Hebert, Kesley Hebert, Parker Jackson, Ja’Nya Johnson, Khaiya Johnson, Lyndsy Joseph, Remi Larson, Leaha LeBlanc, Miranda Leonard, Ethan Matthews, Sean Pourciau, Ashton Rogers, Gabriel Scott, Wyatt Taylor, Cadence Vancel, Jana Wilkinson and Jordan Wilkinson. 4-H Summer Camp Counselors included Elise Jackson, Clay LeBlanc and Claire Martinez.  Iberville 4-H Agent Christina Zito Hebert and 4-H Volunteers Mary Ellen Day, Nicole Hebert, Hannah Johnson and Kejuan Washington chaperoned the trip.
