Plaquemine resident, Warren Schnebelen, has been selected as this year’s Distinguished Graduate for St. John School.
Schnebelen formally received his award on Jan. 29 at the annual Diocesan Distinguished Graduate Dinner from Bishop Muench and Superintendent Verges. Schnebelen is a 1961 graduate of St. John and received a Bachelors of Science degree from LSU in Mechanical Engineering.
He and his wife, Vicki, have five children, Donnie, Chris(Gun), Kyle, Blakeney, and Daniel who all graduated from St. John. They have eleven grandchildren, three are St. John graduates and two are current students.
He is the owner and president of Air Control Engineering, Inc. and is a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 970, St. John Alumni Association, and various other organizations.
He volunteers with St. Vincent DePaul Pharmacy in Baton Rouge by delivering medications to the needy and supports numerous charities including the Louisiana Pediatric Cardiology Foundation, Catholic Charities, and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
The Catholic values he learned at St. John are very important to him as evidenced in his actions, beliefs, and support of Catholic education.
