Multiple Beauregard Parish softball teams will host a first-round matchup in the playoffs following the release of the brackets on Thursday.
DeRidder, South Beauregard and Merryville will have home-field advantage in the first round of the LHSAA tournament.
In Class 4A, No. 3 DeRidder hosts No. 30 Westgate on Monday at 5:30 p.m. following a successful regular season.
Last season, the Lady Dragons made it to the state semifinals as the No. 2 seed, and although its now a No. 3 seed, head coach Todd Schulz loaded the regular-season schedule to get his team prepared for a playoff run.
The winner of Westgate/DeRidder will play the winner of Cecilia/South Terrebonne in the second round.
In the Class 3A, South Beauregard will try to build on its dominating regular season in which it lost just one game.
Despite the record, the Lady K's were selected as the No. 8 seed and will take on No. 25 Eunice at 5 p.m. on Monday.
South Beauregard was bounced in the first round of the playoffs last year and will play the winner of No. 9 Crowley and No. 24 Madison Prep in the second round if it gets past Eunice.
No. 17 East Beauregard goes on the road to play No. 16 Delcambre on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
Last season, the Lady Trojans make it to the state semifinals as the No. 3 seed.
No. 7 Rosepine plays host to No. 26 Beekman Charter on Monday at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Eagles made it to the state semifinals last season as the No. 1 seed.
The winner of Rosepine/Beekman Charter will take on the winner of No. 10 D'Arbonne Woods Charter and No. 23 Welsh in the second round.
No. 5 Merryville received a first-round bye in Class 1A and plays the winner of No. 12 Centerville an No. 21 Arcadia in the second round.
In Class C, No. 13 Singer goes on the road to play No. 4 Plainview in the second round at 4 p.m. Thursday.
Both teams received a first-round bye to set up the Thursday matchup.
The state semifinals and championship games are played on April 26-28 at Frasch Park in Sulphur.
