Multiple Vernon Parish teams will host first-round playoff matchups as the LHSAA state tournament gets underway.
The first round begins on Monday and concludes on Tuesday, with two Class C teams receiving a bye to the second round.
Evans claimed the No. 1 seed in Class C and plays the winner of No. 16 Reeves and No. 17 Epps.
No. 3 Simpson also received a bye and plays No. 14 Pleasant Hill, who also received a bye, in the second round.

In Class B, No. 24 Hicks goes on the road to take on No. 9 Bell City at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, and No. 25 Hornbeck travels to Converse to play the No. 8 Wildcats.
The winner of the two matchups will play each other in the second round of the playoffs.
In a local battle, No. 21 Pitkin makes a short trip to up to Anacoco to take on the No. 12 Lady Indians at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last season, Anacoco fell to the eventual state champs, Holden, in the state semifinals as the No. 4 seed.
In Class 2A, No. 13 Pickering hosts No. 20 Lake Arthur at 5 p.m. on Monday, with the winner taking on the winner of No. 4 Mangham and No. 29 Pine in the second round.
Pickering fell in the second round last season as the No. 9 seed.
No. 7 Rosepine plays host to No. 26 Beekman Charter on Monday at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Eagles made it to the state semifinals last season as the No. 1 seed.
The winner of Rosepine/Beekman Charter will take on the winner of No. 10 D'Arbonne Woods Charter and No. 23 Welsh in the second round.
Last year, as the No. 1 seed, the Lady Eagles made it to the state semifinals before falling to the eventual state champion, Mangham.
In Class 4A, No. 15 Leesville hosts its first-round game against No. 18 Lakeshore at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
The Lady Cats lost 1-0 in the second round to North DeSoto, who won the state championship, last season.
