The Plaquemine High Green Devils improved their record to 16-10 after three consecutive wins, 7-4 over Runnels Friday, and two over Woodlawn High, 12-0 on Thursday and 10-0 on Tuesday.

In Friday’s game, the Green Devils got on top in a hurry, scoring their first run a Seth Landry single in the first inning, another on an error in the second, followed by a single from Reid Griffon in the second and Christian lit up the scoreboard with an RBI double in the second.

Runnels tried to stay close with three runs in the first, but the Green Devils put up two runs of their own in the bottom of the first, the only inning Runnels would lead.

Three runs in the second inning by Plaquemine High put the game in the Devils’ pockets, then added another in fourth. The teams traded runs in the fifth to take the game to its final score, 7-4.

The winning pitcher was Michael Sproles with six innings, during which he gave up four hits and three runs. He struck out five from the mound.

The Green Devils’ offensive leader was J’vonte Powers, with two hits in three at-bats.

Thursday’s big 12-0 win earned Mason Landry a no-hitter and coupled with Christian Hebert’s precision at the plate, 3-for-3, all for RBIs, the Green Devils clinched the win.

The second inning was potent for Plaquemine High with six runs scored off the bats of Herman Christophe, Reid Griffon, Jacob Hebert and Daniel Lathan.

Landry earned the win from the pitcher's mound for the Green Devils, spent almost four innings on the rubber with no hits, no runs, seven strikeouts and a walk.

Tuesday’s 10-0 victory over Woodlawn was driven by Drake Brigalia, who gave up only three hits.

On the flip side, Plaquemine High racked up five runs in the sixth inning.

Christian Hebert, going 3-for-4 at bat, led the Green Devils at the plate.
