White Castle Bulldogs have made their way to a LHSAA 1A semi-final berth.  No. 4 WCHS punched their ticket to the final four after earning an opening win over No. 29 D’Arbonne Woods Charter, 96-46, Regional round victory over No. 13 Grand Lake, 77-46 and Quarterfinal victory over No. 12 Haynesville last Friday, 65-46.

The win over Haynesville earned WCHS a semi-final berth where they take on the toughest team in the 1A bracket, No. 1 Sicily Island on March 7 at the Burton Coliseum in Lake Charles.

Big men Ja’tyre Carter and Princeton Young combined for 33 of the team’s 65 points.

The young squad was forced to step up and replace Tamarcus Fair after losing him to an injury earlier in the season.

Unique Young, Darian Pierce, Koye Ruffin and Kenneth Bracken join Carter and Young on the court and will look to earn a finals playoff berth.

Tip off begins at 3 p.m. for the Bulldogs.  The winner of the matchup will await the winner of the other semi-final game between No. 6 Tensas and No. 2 Lincoln Prep.
