Plaquemine Lady Green Devils earned a pair of wins recently, including their first district win of the season over Livonia.
PHS hosted Livonia on Thursday to open district play, and dominated the field with a 14-3 performance.
The Lady Devils took a 1-0 lead after the first inning, but Livonia powered back with three runs at the top of the second. It was all Lady Devils after, though, as PHS racked up five runs in the second, two in the third, one in the fifth and five in the sixth.
After the initial three runs in the second inning, Livonia was blanked through the final four to bring the game to a final 14-3 win for PHS.
Claire Blanchard racked up a trio of hits in the win, and Emily Falencki and Sharon Gibson each followed with two. Hope Spencer, Falencki and Blanchard each racked up three RBIs in the win.
Madison Hebert pitched all six innings and threw 13 first pitch strikes and four strikeouts.
PHS followed their district victory with another homestand against rival Port Allen on Monday and came away with a 10-0 victory.
The visiting Lady Pelicans were held scoreless through five innings as the Plaquemine Lady Green Devils scored three in the first, a pair in the second, four in the third and one in the bottom of the fourth.
Blanchard and Eltonia Martin racked up a pair of hits in the win. Martin and Falencki totaled two RBIs a piece. Hebert pitched all five innings and totaled 11 first pitch strikes and three strikeouts.
The Lady Devils sport a 3-6 overall record and are 1-0 in district play. They will hit the road to take on Woodlawn B.R. and False River before returning home to take on rival Tara this week.
