Plaquemine Lady Green Devils have started their 2017 district campaign with a 3-0 record.  PHS won its first district softball matchup on March 9 against Livonia 13-3.  Last week, the Lady Devils notched two more wins to their belts, one to each Woodlawn and Tara.

PHS hit the road to take on rival Woodlawn B.R. last Tuesday and came away with a resounding 19-1 victory after three innings.

Hope Spencer was the lead hitter for the Lady Devils and racked up a trio of hits and a trio of RBIs.  Emily Falencki also totaled three RBIs and Haley Landry followed with two.

PHS then hit the road to take on False River in a non-district matchup, but came up short 7-17.

Madison Hebert led the Lady Devils with four RBIs.  Hebert and Jessi Marshall split pitching duties in the loss.  Marshall racked up 11 first pitch strikes, Hebert totaled 10.

PHS looked to bounce back in its third district matchup this month, this time at home against Tara.  The Lady Devils ended the game after five innings played with a final score of 11-1.  The home team blanked the visiting Tara Lady Trojans through the first four innings, and allowed just one earned run in the top of the fifth.

Caroline Zeringue totaled a pair of hits in the win and three RBIs.   Madison Hebert pitched all five innings and earned 11 strikeouts and 11 first pitch strikes.

The Lady Devils are currently 3-0 in district play and will look to continue their district streak against Livonia and St. Michael this week.
