The Plaquemine Lady Green Devils wrapped up their 2017 district campaign with victories over rivals Tara and Woodlawn, followed by a blowout victory over parish rival White Castle last week.

PHS hit the road last Tuesday to take on district rival Tara and came away with a 17-4 victory after five innings played.

Jamyra Richard was the team’s lead hitter with three, followed by Emily Falencki with two.  Richard also was the team’s RBI leader along with Falencki at three apiece.  Abby Blanchard followed with two.

Madison Hebert pitched all five innings and racked up 13 first pitch strikes with 11 strikeouts.

After the win, the Lady Devils returned home to finish out their district campaign against Woodlawn B.R. and pulled out a 19-0 victory after two and a half innings played.

Jessi Marshall was the team’s hit leader and RBI leader with a pair of hits and a trio of RBIs.  Caroline Zeringue and Claire Blanchard each racked up two RBIs.

Hebert took to the mound again in the win and earned seven strikeouts.

Plaquemine Lady Green Devils finished up their district season at 6-2 overall, good enough for second place in 6-4A behind undefeated St. Michael.

Before their season come to an end, however, the Lady Devils hosted parish rival White Castle Lady Bulldogs and shutout the visiting team 15-0.

Hope Spencer and Eltonia Martin each racked up a pair of RBIs in the win.

The Lady Devils just have a pair of non-district games left on their schedule, the Pink Game against St. John and a road non-district matchup against St. Scholastica before their seeding is announced for the LHSAA 4A playoffs.
