Following yesterday's gorgeous weather, rain will dampen the weekend.

The work week ends with a 50 percent chance of rain, mainly in the afternoon hours. Winds will be from the ESE at 15 mph, with highs around 80.

Lows will drop to the mid 60s.

Rain chances increase for what looks to be a soggy Saturday. An 80 percent chance of thurnderstorms -- some possibly severe -- is expected throughout south Louisiana.

Some areas could receive over 1 inch of rain.

Highs will only reach the upper 70s, while lows will hover around 70.

Mother's Day may also be sloshy. A 60 percent rain probability is in the Sunday outlook, with highs in the lower 80s.

The rain will move out the picture by Sunday evening, bringing clear conditions back into the forecast for Monday.

Highs will approach the mid 80s, with only a slight chance of rain for the start of the work week.
