Plaquemine High School split with Broadmoor 61-31 on Tuesday night and Istrouma 70-47 on Friday night in District 6-4A play and remained in a third-place tie in league standings heading into this week.

The Green Devils (17-10, 4-5), under coach Kirby Loupe, are No. 33 in unofficial power ratings. Plaquemine hosted St. Michael the Archangel (12-13, 4-5) on Tuesday night to decide third-place and will travel to Belaire (4-21, 2-7) on Friday night and host Lutcher (8-16, 1-9) Monday night in the regular season finale.

First-place Istrouma (20-6, 10-0) was undefeated heading into the week ahead of Tara (21-7, 8-1).

Plaquemine jumped out to a 13-9 first quarter lead over Broadmoor (7-15, 4-6) before taking a 24-13 halftime lead and 40-20 advantage into the fourth.

Louis Conerly led the Green Devils with 18 points including two 3-pointers. Davon Godchaux added 11, Devante Marshall eight, Clifton Young six, Jodeci Harris five, Jamie Lawless and Daryl Tillman each three, Charleston Spears and Deon Harding each two and Justin Randall and Joseph Jordan each one.

Joshua Rogers led Broadmoor (7-15, 4-6) with 12 points and Joshua St. Cyr added six.

Istrouma led 15-7 going into the second quarter and 28-13 at the half before taking a 50-33 lead into the fourth.

Marshall led Plaquemine with 19 points. Godchaux added 12, Conerly and Spears each eight and Harding one. Marshall and Conerly each made one 3-pointer.

Tevin Walker led the Indians with 19 points including four 3-pointers. Carvis Kaigler added 17 and Marquise Kaigler 16.
