East Iberville High School defeated Ascension Catholic 85-72 on Monday night and Ascension Christian 102-48 on Friday night in District 9-1A play to remain undefeated in league play and in first-place in standings.
The Tigers (13-10, 8-0), under coach Doug Schultz, are No. 11 in unofficial Class 1A power rankings. East Iberville traveled to St. John of Plaquemine on Tuesday and will go to White Castle (14-9, 7-1) on Friday night to wrap up the regular season and decide the district champion. The Tigers defeated the Bulldogs 53-50 earlier in the season.
East Iberville took a 24-16 lead into the second quarter and led 43-27 at the half over Ascension Catholic before taking a 73-54 lead into the fourth.
Tyler James led the Tigers with 20 points. Jayden Redditt added 13, Frank Broussard 12, Quantae Johnson 11, Daryl Ingram nine, Junius Chong eight, Kylen Popular five and Braylen Dailey, Shawn Griffin and Devin Johnson each two and Lamont Kerr one.
Broussard had two 3-pointers and Redditt, Johnson and Ingram each one.
Kaleb Winchester had a game-high 29 for the Bulldogs. Cleveland Fefie added 14, Gilbert Allen 13 and DeAndre Francis six.
East Iberville led 34-11 going into the second quarter and 54-23 at the half over Ascension Christian before taking an 82-30 lead into the fourth.
Dailey led the Tigers with 18 points. Ingram added 17, Broussard 15, Johnson 12, Redditt nine, Javonte Sherman and Kris Grace each eight, Popular, Chong and Kerr each four and Johnson and Oubre each one.
Ingram and Broussard each hit three 3-pointers and Redditt and Sherman each one.
Thomas Kuhn led the Lions (5-19, 0-7) with 19 points. Christian Pilgrim added six and Dustin Blanchard five.
