PLAQUEMINE - Crisp, fresh green and fiery red, those colors cannot help but catch your eye.

Plaquemine Garden Club's April Garden of the Month goes to Andrea Wilbert of 58140 LaBauve Avenue.

LaBauve Avenue nestles one of the main architectural arteries of the Garden District.

Wilbert's home’s colors compliment each other, as you can see here. She has carried her smashing complimenting colors into her garden, which speaks that it is alive with a monochromatic scheme of reds.

Her garden homes one of the most beautiful red bottle brush tree that I have ever seen. It frames the side of her home and invites you to have coffee on her balcony or on her wrought iron garden bench.

The grouping of the red amaryllis set another scene of her garden. She has carefully placed a syrup pot with a fountain and you can listen to the tranquility of the water.

Dwarf red banana, Mexican heather, mums, and marigolds also add a pop of color.  She believes in minimal maintenance and her lawn is pristine.
