BATON ROUGE - Community Coffee Company is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of its Community Cash for Schools program and Louisiana Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne will proclaim Friday, July 26, as Community Cash for Schools Day in the state.
Along with officials from Community Coffee Company and students and administrators from area schools, Dardenne will host a coffee and press conference to announce the proclamation at the Old State Capitol at 9:30 a.m.
Dardenne will make the proclamation and launch the company’s Sweepstakes marking the 25th anniversary of its Community Cash for Schools® program.
The Community Coffee Company Sweepstakes gives customers the opportunity to collect more UPC labels for the Community Cash for Schools® program and have a chance to win prizes. Specially marked 16 oz. packages of Community® coffee contain two bonus UPC labels, allowing more money to be earned for participating schools. Also, inside these specially marked packages is a chance to instantly win one of three Mercedes-Benz C250 sedans from Mercedes-Benz of Baton Rouge.
Through the years, the program has led to more than $4 million in donations from Community Coffee Company to more than 900 schools in nine states. These schools have used the money for new computers, playgrounds, teaching resources and other improvements as they see fit.
Community Cash for Schools is a shining example of our continuing commitment to the local communities where we do business, stated David Belanger, president and CEO of Community Coffee Company.
