Taitee Khao of Portland, Or. Recently stopped by the Plaquemine Lock State Historic Site and enjoyed a tour by Friends of the Plaquemine Lock member and Plaquemine resident Richard Trepagnier, Jr. The 59-year-old is traveling the perimeter of the country and taking his time. He said he has been zig-zagging on his route so he can see many of the small towns including Plaquemine. Khao said he likes the flavor of a small town. The retired business man is not doing the ride for particular cause or to promote anything. He said he is just on a personal journey and trying to keep up his health after suffering a back injury several years ago. He also mentioned he is riding in memory of his mother and nephew. He and his family came to America from Malaysia 30 years ago.
