Louisiana Public Broadcasting will show highlights from the 24th Louisiana Legends Gala on Monday, June 9 at 8PM on LPB-HD with an encore showing on Sunday, June 15 at 11AM. This year’s event was held Thursday, May 8 at the Old State Capitol in Baton Rouge and honored former LSU Basketball Coach Dale Brown, the winningest coach in LSU Basketball history; two-term Governor Murphy J. “Mike” Foster, Jr., Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singer and guitarist Buddy Guy, community activist Mary Frey Eaton and businessman and philanthropist W. Elton Kennedy, Jr. Guy was on tour in Brazil and unable to attend but he did send a taped message for the event.

The program includes profiles of the honorees and their acceptance speeches along with other highlights from the gala, which is a fundraiser for Friends of LPB. Underwriting for the event and the LPB interview series Louisiana Legends was provided by Louisiana Healthcare Connection and the RoyOMartin Foundation.
