The Iberville Parish 4-H Program, Iberville Agricultural Education Program and Iberville FFA Chapter hosted the 3rd Annual Iberville AgAdventures Expo at the C.M. “Mike” Zito Multipurpose Arena on March 16-17.

More than 750 2nd-5th grade students, 40 educators and 70 chaperones visited the expo. Participants journeyed through 18 co-curricular educational stations. Each station featured interactive activities related to local agricultural industries. Through this experience, students gained practical knowledge about local agricultural products, commodities, and services that impact their daily lives.

The educational stations involved food science, aquaculture, horticulture, farming, pollination, animal science, wildlife management and biology exhibits.   Participants “ag-sperienced” Louisiana’s agriculture by seeing, touching and tasting local agricultural resources and commodities.

The following educational stations were presented by a team of adult volunteers and 48 youth volunteers: “Sugar and Farming Equipment Station” sponsored by Quad Ag and Farm Bureau; “Wheel of Ag Station” sponsored by Farm Bureau; “Farm to Table Station” sponsored by the LSU AgCenter; “Fishing Sports Station” sponsored by 4-H and FFA; “Forestry Station” sponsored by the LSU AgCenter; “Magic of Moo Dairy and Ice Cream Station” sponsored by 4-H and FFA; “Louisiana’s Mudbugs Station” sponsored by Kelley’s Bait and Crawfish and the Louisiana Youth Wetlands Program; “Endangered Species Station” sponsored by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries; “squ-WORMING Soil Aeration Station” sponsored 4-H and FFA; “Horsing Around at the Petting Zoo Station” sponsored by HMM Farms and Three ZZZ’s Barn; “Chicken Little Station,” sponsored by 4-H and FFA; “Soybean Lip Balm Station,” sponsored by 4-H and FFA; “Wild About Wetlands Station” sponsored by the Louisiana Sea Grant; “Honey Buzzle Bee Station” sponsored by the BreeZee Beekeeper Co.; “Alligator Industry Station” presented by Natalie McElyea; “A Whale of an Adventure Station” sponsored by FFA; and “Butter Making Station” sponsored by 4-H and FFA.
