In compliance with the College and Career Readiness Act, North Iberville Elementary hosts its first annual Career Day on March 22. The event offered students an opportunity to visit a number of representatives from local agencies and businesses.
North Iberville would like to thank the following businesses: Guaranty Bank, iHeart Radio, Shintech, Shell Oil, Village of Grosse Tete, Raising Canes, Union Pacific, LSU AgCenter, LSU Sports, Town of Maringouin, Woman’s Hospital, Dixon Construction, Iberville Sheriff’s Department, WBRZ, LA Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries and Relief Windows.
“I was delighted with the turnout of guests who recently engaged our students in learning more about the world of work,” Iberville School System representative Lisa David said. “Often young children do not have a venue in which to discuss career topics and choices.
“Hopefully our students understand that a job is vastly different than a career, and it’s never too early to begin thinking about post secondary plans.”
