White Castle High School senior Ja’Tyre Carter was recently recognized by the Iberville School Board as their High School Senior Guest.
The 18-year-old Carter is a 4.0 student, a member of the Senior Beta Club, and was named Class 1A Most Valuable Player after he and his team won the basketball state title this year.
“It’s a great honor to recognize Ja’Tyre Carter, who is an outstanding senior at White Castle High School,” Superintendent Arthur Joffrion said. “Receiving this award is a testament to the hard work, time and dedication that he has put into being a focused and responsible student.”
Carter credits his parents for inspiring him to be the best athlete he can be, but most importantly to be the best student he can be.
He plans to attend college and major in computer science. Ten years from now, Carter sees himself playing in the NFL or in the NBA. He contributes his successes to God, his parents, grandparents, family members, friends and the teachers and staff of White Castle High.
