"The line between new and used apparel is blurring for consumers, and forward-thinking retailers see an opportunity in secondhand."

Girls Inc. is a non-profit organization that inspires girls to be strong, smart, and bold through direct service and advocacy.

To help benefit Girls Inc., Stage Stores and thredUP have partnered together to create a new way of donating clothes with a Donation Clean Out Kit. This is for shoppers who would like to donate their gently used or like-new clothing items to the store.

thredUP is the world's largest online consignment store, and has curated collections that arrive weekly at Stage locations. This allows shoppers to look forward to great deals with fun finds. thredUP has three locations in the Baton Rouge area in Stage stores: 2356 S Range Avenue in Denham Springs, 809 Airline Highway in Gonzales, and 5460-A Main Street in Zachary. Donation Kits are available at these locations.

"Stage is excited to be the first department store location for thredUP. More people are shopping secondhand than ever before, and with these shops in our stores, we'll give our guests and thredUP shoppers a place to see and touch the merchandise in person," Michael Glazer, President and CEO of Stage, said. "Additionally, we'll give an extra bit of convenience by serving as a drop-off location for people to bring their filled Clean Out Bags, and we will ship those back to thredUP."

CEO and Founder of thredUP, James Reinhart, said, "The line between new and used apparel is blurring for consumers, and forward-thinking retailers see an opportunity in secondhand. thredUP's constant like-new arrivals in Stage stores keeps shopping fresh and fun, driving customers back again and again.
Before you donate, make sure the clothing items are clean and freshly washed, in excellent condition, and are from a name brand. They should not be over five years old, have no missing labels or sizes, and not have any pilling, stains, or holes. If you receive a bag, you can activate it to receive a tax receipt. Items in the Donation Bags cannot be returned.
