Life skills: Iberville 4-H Cloverbuds participate in Gingerbread Christmas Funshop

The Iberville Parish 4-H Cloverbuds recently participated in a Gingerbread Christmas Funshop that included decorating gingerbread houses. The program is designed to build life skills, promote healthy intellectual activity and develop participants socially, emotionally and physically.

PLAQUEMINE - The Iberville Parish 4-H Cloverbuds had a jolly ole' time at their Gingerbread Christmas Funshop on Dec. 14 at the LSU AgCenter Extension Service.

Participants decorated gingerbread houses and Santa Claus surprised the Cloverbuds with a sack full of presents.

The Cloverbuds also enjoyed listening to Christmas music and playing games. Afterwards, participants enjoyed hot chocolate, lemonade, Christmas cookies and fruits.

Funshop participants included Deniya Morgan, Marcus Carter and Alex's Brown from Dorseyville Elementary; Ava Leger, Parker Jackson, Anna Claire Campbell, Olivia Sanchev, Maggie Dunn, Analise Gaudet, Amelia Gaudet, Leanne Bueche, Braedyn Rogillio, Clayton Rett and Amelie Blanchard from St John Elementary; Kalaeb Greaud and Myracle Harris from North Iberville Elementary; Claire Cox, Kaylee King, Reese Carbo and Lyndsy Joseph from the Math, Science and Arts Academy; Janirein Rivers from Iberville Elementary and member-at-large Toni Carline.

4-H Program Assistant Kathy Jones along with volunteers Susan Persilver, Lisa Jackson, Susan Simoneaux and Karen Fitzgerald assisted members at the Funshop. St. John 4-H member Elise Jackson also volunteered services.

The 4-H Cloverbud Program offers age appropriate educational programming to Iberville Parish Headstart students and students in K-3rd grades.

The program is designed to build life skills, promote healthy intellectual activity and develop participants socially, emotionally and physically.
