BATON ROUGE - Governor Piyush "Bobby" Jindal recently joined officials from LSU and Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center to mark the opening of the new LSU Health Medical Education and Innovation Center on OLOL's main hospital campus.

The new center will serve as a hub for LSU's Baton Rouge-based physician training and graduate medical education programs and will offer a state of the art learning environment for students.

The center is part of the state's historic public-private hospital partnerships that strengthen care for the people of Louisiana, lower costs and improve graduate medical education for future doctors across the state.

Residents who will use the new building will train in areas such as Emergency Medicine, Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology (ENT), Psychiatry, as well as General and Vascular Surgery. The building will also serve GME programs developed by OLOL.
