BATON ROUGE - ESPN Analyst and former collegiate head coach Bill Curry called former LSU wide receiver Michael Clayton “a great, great football player who can walk on the field and change the game.”

There was a time in Clayton’s life where the game of football was his main passion and purpose.

Then came a moment when he realized he needed to chasesomething else besides perfection on the football field.

Each of us has ideals and after eight years in the league, Clayton started to chase and strive for his - compassion, solemnity, uprightness, and charity.

Clayton never gave up the chase for perfection on the field, he just started working harder toward perfection off.

“Chasing My Rookie Year is not a quest for glory,” he said. “It is a quest for life’s purpose.”

Fans will be able to purchase autographed copies of his self-published book Chasing My Rookie Year, ask questions and take photographs with Clayton during a book signing Jan. 17 from 5-7 p.m. at LSU Barnes and Noble located at 2 Union Square in Baton Rouge.

Clayton was a part of LSU’s 2004 National Championship team and was drafted No. 15 overall in the NFL Draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This is his first book signing.
