BATON ROUGE - If you are a budding filmmaker and want to show off your work, enter it in the PBS Online Film Festival.

PBS and Louisiana Public Broadcasting are sponsoring the festival to encourage independent moviemakers to submit their unique, thought provoking creations for a possible showing online.

The only restrictions are that the films must be between three and 15 minutes long and must meet the technical criteria for the festival.

These shorts, through a variety of storytelling and cinematic techniques, expose the particulars of life in a way that is both surprising and comforting.

The festival will focus on new types of films, told in non-traditional ways on non-linear platforms. In addition to a general audience, the films selected will reach a younger socially-engaged audience.

Anyone wanting to enter their film can send a link to filmfest@lpb.org so it can be reviewed.

If you have questions about the technical requirements for the festival, send them to the same email address or go to www.lpb.org/filmfest..

All entries must be received by Saturday, Feb.15.
