Plaquemine man killed in La. 75 crash
BATON ROUGE - A Plaquemine man was killed in a single vehicle crash on La. 75 in Bayou Sorrel on Tuesday, according to State Police.
Matthew G. Allen, 34, of Plaquemine, was driving a 2001 Ford F-150 northbound shortly before 7 p.m. when his vehicle ran off the road to the right, struck a driveway and flipped over several times.
Allen was unrestrained and suffered fatal injuries, State Police said.
Drive impairment is unknown but a toxicology sample was taken and submitted to the State Crime Lab for analysis.
Louisiana law requires that every person in a motor vehicle, regardless of seating position, always remain buckled up.
Statistics show that the chances of surviving a violent crash rise significantly when properly restrained.
