BATON ROUGE – The Sunshine Bridge in St. James Parish will be reduced to one lane for two miles by closing the right lane while contractors perform maintenance work on the bridge.

The lane closure begins Feb. 12 and will last for 10-14 days with notification of subsequent lane switches to follow that is expected to last through June 2015.

La. 70 eastbound will be closed approximately .5 miles west of the bridge and La. 70 westbound will be closed approximately .25 miles east of it.

This closure will allow vehicles 11-ft wide or smaller to pass through the construction zone.

Road is open for regular traffic but oversize vehicles must contact the LADOTD permit office for an alternate route.

If there are any questions or concerns regarding the closure, please

contact the project engineer Wm Wayne Marchand at 252-5823.
