Grand Jury indicts four in murder case

PLAQUEMINE – 18th Judicial District Attorney Richard J. Ward reports the indictment of four individuals by an Iberville Parish Grand Jury on Feb. 6 in the death of Darnell Paige.

The shooting occurred on Nov. 4, 2013.

-Thomas C. Johnson, 26, 24155 Harold Lane, Plaquemine, was indicted on charges of second-degree murder, conspiracy to commit second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was arrested Nov. 20, 2013.

- Brandon T. James, 29, 24120 Church St., Plaquemine, was indicted on charges of second-degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of cocaine. He was arrested Nov. 8, 2013.

- Daisy Lee Bindon, 52, 24221 Bourgeois St., Plaquemine, was indicted on charges of possession of cocaine. She was arrested Nov. 6.

- Jessica M. Deloch, 32, 58431 Nats Alley, Plaquemine, was indicted on charges of accessory after the fact to second-degree murder. She was arrested Nov. 12, 2013.

The court left the bond on Johnson at $600,000, which was previously set by Judge William Dupont and Judge Alvin Batiste issued arrest warrants for Johnson and James.

The case was investigated by the Plaquemine City Police Department with the assistance of the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office and the Louisiana State Police Fusion Center.
