White Castle Library hosts 21st Annual Black History Program Feb. 27

WHITE CASTLE - The White Castle Library will host its 21st Annual Black History Program on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m.

This year’s program will celebrate the national theme, “Civil Rights in America: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.”

Linda Johnson will serve as speaker. She is well known in the community, parish and state.

Johnson is a graduate of Southern University and has had a varied career in human resources working for Georgia Gulf.

She has served several terms with the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and has had much experience working with other agencies and panels.

She is a deaconess at Plymoth Rock Baptist Church and an advocate for Civil Rights in America.
