Iberville Relay for Life Day proclaimed
PLAQUEMINE - City of Plaquemine Mayor Mark “Tony” Gulotta and the Board of Selectman have proclaimed every Wednesday in March as Iberville Relay for Life Day.
Officials encourage residents to wear the color purple or a purple emblem every Wednesday in recognition of Relay for Life.
Residents are also encouraged to display their support by placing a purple bow or decoration on their doorways.
The Iberville Relay for Life is set Friday, April 4 beginning at 5 p.m. at COPAC. To have a team, be a sponsor or volunteer call 225-776-6121 or email email@example.com.
Relay for Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The event, held in communities across the U.S, raises more than $400 million annually.
It provides funding for a variety of programs such as free wigs and head wear, patient transportation for treatment, support networks, cancer care specialists and some $150 million in research.
