PLAQUEMINE - Iberville Parish School System’s Talent Machine, comprised of more than 400 students in the parish’s public schools, will perform or assist in staging a new original musical entitled “Childhood” written and directed by IPSS’s Chief Academic Officer Elvis J. Cavalier.

The play will be performed on April 15- 16 at the Performing Arts Center at the MSA-West Academy.

Tickets are being sold in advance at all area schools, the Iberville Parish School Board Office and the MSA-West Performing Arts Center ticket booth. Tickets are $5 per person. No tickets will be sold the evening of the performance.

This is the seventh season of the Talent Machine, an educational program designed to expose youth of all ages to stage experiences, said Cavalier.

A prominent showcase of the performance will be the 100-piece student orchestra, led by music director and orchestra conductor Dr. Michael Berthelot.

Act I is centered around the dark side of being a child while Act II deals with the magical aspects of childhood in today’s world. Music, dance and song are integrated into the performance.
