13th Annual Green Devil Classic held at The Island Golf Community and Course

PLAQUEMINE – The Island Country Club and Golf Course hosted the 13th Annual Green Devil Golf Classic on April 14.

“We had a real good turnout,” Plaquemine athletic director Scott Allen said. “We had a lot of teams and a bunch of sponsors.”

The event provides funds for the athletic department at Plaquemine Senion High School, according to Allen.

Coca-Cola’s winning team Rick Leveque, Brett Fairchild, Dirk Fairchild and Chuck Ellis.

Axiall Corporation’s team placed second and included Chase Blanchard, Mitchell Kelley, Randy Blanchard and Seth Holley.

Joey Stein and Jimbo Cox cooked for the event and door prizes were presented.

Chad Brown was the silent auction winner and took home an autographed LSU baseball jersey. Kenny Payne also won a stay at Nottoway Plantation.
