Plaquemine Bank introduces board members

PLAQUEMINE - Stephen Panepinto, Chairman of the Board of Plaquemine Bank and Trust Company, announced the election of Leo Sternfels and Harry J. “Skip” Philips Jr. to the Board of Directors at the annual stockholders meeting in April.

Sternfels, a native and resident of Napoleonville, is a graduate of Assumption High School and attended Nicholls State University.

While attending Nicholls, Sternfels began his career with Sternfels Insurance Agency. In 1985, after the passing of his father, Sternfels became president of the insurance agency and served in that capacity for the next 15 years, until Sternfels Insurance Agency merged with Arthur J. Gallagher in 2000.

Sternfels has previously served as a Board Director on the Independent Insurance Agents Association of Louisiana. He remains active today in the insurance business, as well as with real estate ventures throughout south Louisiana. 

Currently, Sternfels serves as a director of South Coast Gas Company. He is married to Jennifer Green Sternfels and they have six children and two grandchildren.

Philips, a native of New Orleans and long-time resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana is a graduate of Louisiana State University and holds Bachelor and Juris Doctorate degrees. 

Following graduation from LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center, Philips joined Taylor, Porter, Brooks and Philips, L.L.P and has practiced law with that firm for the past 30 years.  He currently serves as the firm’s managing partner. 

Philips is married to Colleen S. Philips and they have two children, Trey and Tracy, and three grandchildren.
