Iberville 4-H Cloverbuds display their pets at their annual Pet Show.

PLAQUEMINE - The Iberville Parish 4-H Cloverbuds had an awesome time at their Pet Show on March 22 at the “Mike” Zito Multi-Purpose Arena.

Participants learned about pet care and proper hand washing techniques.

The 4-H Cloverbuds also enjoyed showing off their pet’s tricks and fashion design skills. There were a variety of pets displayed, which included a Hedgehog, Hamster, Guinea Pig and dogs.

Workshop participants included Allie Morales from MSA-W; Parker Jackson, Meredith Landry, Clay LeBlanc and Baylie Romero from St John; Emily Booksh and Cate Booksh from Sacred Heart and Paris Smith from Iberville Elementary.

The LSU Agricultural Center would like to thank Paul Bouy and C.J. Martinez of the Mike Zito Multi-Purpose Facility for their assistance. A special thanks to Dr. Patrick Thistlewaite of Plaquemine who educated the Cloverbuds on animal care.

The 4-H Cloverbud Program offers age appropriate educational programming to Iberville Parish Headstart students and students in K-3rd grades.

The program is designed to build life skills, promote healthy intellectually activity and develop participants socially, emotionally and physically.
