CAAA hosting Medicare enrollment event May 15

BATON ROUGE - The Capital Area Agency on Aging will host a Medicare Part D enrollment event to help seniors and adults with disabilities get enrolled in the drug assistance plan that is right for them. 

The event will take place Thursday, May 15 from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at St. Gabriel City Hall located at 5035 Iberville St..

Trained counselors from CAAA will be on hand to help seniors at this free event get instantly enrolled.  The event is free and open to the public.

Adults 62 years of age or older should attend to see if they qualify for Medicare Part D, the Medicare Savings Plan or the Low Income Subsidy with Social Security in order to cover their prescription costs.

Individuals should bring their social security number or existing Medicare card, and their list of medicines.

“We are here to help any adult aged 65 years or older, or any adult with a disability over the age of 21, get their medicines for the lowest price possible,” said Beryl Mitchell, CAAA Senior Rx Coordinator.
