Northwestern State awards degrees at spring commencement

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University awarded degrees to 806 students at its Spring Commencement Exercises Friday, May 9 in Prather Coliseum.

Northwestern State President Dr. Randall J. Webb was the commencement speaker. Webb will retire later this year after serving as president for more than 18 years, the longest tenure in the institution’s 130-year history.

Members of the Class of 1964 received second diplomas in recognition of the 50th anniversary of their graduation at the afternoon ceremony.

Spring graduates and their degree listed by hometown include Shawnice Christmas, Bachelor of Arts and Casey Toussant, Bachelor of Science, both of Maringouin.
