Plaquemine man selected MTV Copycat contestant

LOS ANGELES - MTV takes the world of singing competitions to new heights this summer when new series, "Copycat" premieres June 2 at 6:30 p.m.
Hosted by Jonathan Bennett of "Mean Girls" fame, the series will showcase contestants who think they can sing just like their favorite music artists.
In each episode of "Copycat" six contestants pay tribute to their celebrity icons in a "cat fight battle," where two fans who idolize the same artist are pitted against one another in a sing off in front of a live studio audience.
The two final performers will then undergo makeovers and transform them into their celebrity idols for one last performance of the idols' songs in an effort to win $5,000.
Justin Garner of Plaquemine has been selected as a contestant.
Garner’s knowledge of business coupled with his musical ability has landed him many mainstream opportunities, including highly coveted chart positions on iTunes and other storefronts.
He has performed around the United States as a supporting act for recording artists Trey Songz, Big Sean, Fantasia, Keri Hilson and many more.
