St. John Elementary/Middle School hosts Career Week

PLAQUEMINE - St. John Elementary/Middle School Guidance Counselor Kellie Miller recently organized a Career Week for the eighth grade students during the week of May 12 – 16.
Each student was guided through interest and personality tests.
Then, they utilized the Internet for research regarding their recommended career paths based on the results of the tests.
Job choices were narrowed down each day and the week culminated with students coming to school dressed as their top career choice with presentations made to fellow classmates.
The eighth graders had a wide range of interests and all have a promising future.
Examples of their choices included athletic trainer, wildlife biologist, manufacturing engineer, veterinary assistant, anesthesiologist, multimedia animator, neonatal nurse, pediatrician, lawyer, physical therapist, orthodontist, CEO, forensic science technician, architect, sheriff’s deputy, dermatologist and tow boat captain.
