Clarence Pryer Jr, Devon Breaux, Acardi Oubre, Donny Cagle, Wayne Roy Sr, Derek Hulett, Gill Wilson and Gerald Jones recently completed the introductory Process Technology course which was offered by East Iberville Industry Neighbor Companies. During the course, they got a first-hand lesson on the advantages and expectations of working in the local plants from several Plant Managers and Instructor Jemal Baptist who is an experienced operator from Shell. They each received three hours college credit and are eligible to apply to receive a full PTEC scholarship at either River Parishes Community College or Baton Rouge Community College. The course, books, transportation for plant tours and scholarships were funded by East Iberville-INC, which includes the following plants  Mexichem Fluor, Olin Chlor-Alkali, PCS Nitrogen, Syngenta, Taminco, Total and Williams. Tia Edwards and Tim Johnson of the TJC Group facilitated the program and play a crucial role in supporting workforce development in Louisiana.  High paying process operator jobs are in high demand at plants along the Mississippi River corridor and that demand is expected to escalate in the coming years.
