Plaquemine's Main Street Program hosts Art on the Bayou May 31

PLAQUEMINE - Some 25 artists will be showing and selling their art at Art on the Bayou on Saturday, May 31.

The new event, to be held at the Bayou Plaquemine Waterfront Park Pavilion, is sponsored by the City of Plaquemine Main Street Program.

All art forms are welcome, and artists will not be charged a booth fee to display and/or sell their art. No admission fee will be charged to those attending and art demonstrations will be on-going through out the event.

Hours are from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Music and food will also be available to add to the festive atmosphere.

The Bayou Plaquemine Waterfront Park is located at 57845 Foundry Street next to the Best Western Plaquemine Inn and Plaquemine Lock State Historic Site in Plaquemine.

The Plaquemine Main Street Program was recently awarded as a Louisiana designated Creative Community and has an active Iberville Friends of the Arts Committee promoting the arts and compiling a database of artists.
