PORT ALLEN -  Let your nose lead the way to the West Baton Rouge Museum on Wednesday, June 4 for two “scent-sational” opportunities to learn about the history of perfume from the proprietor of New Orleans’ oldest perfumery established in 1843.

Two sessions of the same workshop will be offered at noon and 6 p.m.

The West Baton Rouge Museum is pleased to partner with the Bourbon French Parfum Company and Mary Behlar who will present an afternoon and an evening hands-on workshop where each participant will leave with a sample of a hand mixed scent.

Bourbon French Parfums located on Royal Street in the heart of the French Quarter started out blending the scents of flowers and spices into subtle, alluring fragrances.

The business has changed very little over the last 170 years of operation using what is considered to be the best method of perfume making; simple, direct and natural.

Space is limited to 25 participants per workshop. This program is free. Advance reservations are required by calling 225-336-2422.

The West Baton Rouge Museum is located at 845 N. Jefferson Avenue in Port Allen.
