Iberville Parish Library upcoming events in June
PLAQUEMINE - It’s going to be a busy and fun summer at your local library. Just check out some of the exciting things we are offering.
At the Plaquemine branch we will have a “Monday Matinee” each Monday in June through July 14 at 2:30 p.m. Lapsit Storytime will be every Tuesday (10:30 a.m.) and Pre-school Storytime will be Thursday (10 a.m.) A very special program featuring Hobey Ford’s Golden Rod Puppets will take place at the Carl F. Grant Civic Center on June 19 at 10 a.m. and also at the East Iberville Elementary Gym on the 19th at 2 p.m.
Also, in June we will have a Pre-teen program (ages 9-12) each Thursday at 1 p.m. and a Young Adult Program (ages 12-18) at 2 p.m. every Tuesday. Be sure not to miss “Journey to Oz”, A Ballet for Children scheduled for June 25 at the Math, Science and Arts Academy West theater. The show starts at 10 a.m.
At the White Castle Branch, Lapsit will be each Tuesday at 10 a.m. and Pre-school Storyhour will be at 3:30 p.m. We will have pre-teen programming at 3:30 p.m. on Mondays. Award winning singer and storyteller Johnette Downing will perform at 2 p.m. on June 12. A “Journey to Oz”, Ballet for Children will be held at the White Castle High School Gym at 2 p.m.
If you visit one of the branches in the northern part of the parish you will still find plenty to do. Rosedale branch will have programs each Tuesday at 11 a.m. (ages 0-11) and 2 p.m. (ages 12-18) Maringouin has a program for all ages each Wednesday at 3 p.m. and Grosse Tete Branch has Storytime each Monday at 11 a.m.
If you are in the southern part of Iberville you might want to visit the Bayou Sorrel Branch where Storytime is held each Wednesday in June at 11 a.m. At Bayou Pigeon, Storyteller Johnette Downing will perform on Friday June 13th at 10 a.m. After this week, Storytime will be on Wednesdays at 1 p.m.
Finally, at the East Iberville branch you can attend Storytime on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. (all ages) and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. A pre-teen program will be held each Monday at 1 p.m. On Wednesday, June 25 at 10:30 a.m. the Playmakers will present “Planet Nobuk” at the East Iberville Elementary Gym.
