WBR Museum hosts Bastille Day celebration July 13

PORT ALLEN - The West Baton Rouge Museum will hold a Bastille Day celebration, a family fun day with a French twist, on Sunday, July 13 from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Enjoy an afternoon immersed in French culture. Activities include French food, music, art demonstrations and hands-on activities. The museum offers free admission that day.

Bastille Day at the West Baton Rouge Museum is an event designed to complement the current exhibition, A Louisianan’s Grand Tour in the Belle Èpoque. 

Featured activities include French pastry making demonstrations by Christina Nicosia and her students from the Louisiana Culinary Institute and local artists demonstrating Impressionist style painting techniques.

The afternoon is rounded out with French music, games, conversation and hands on activities.

The French National Day commemorates the beginning of the French Revolution with the Storming of the Bastille on the July 14, 1789.
